This Auto-Leveling Platform was a Senior Design Project made while attending St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas.  This objective of this project was to create a device with a surface that is always level while being subjected to outside forces.  It was designed primarily to be used in transportation, however the concept can be applied to many other areas.

The requirements for the project were:

  • A range of 30 degrees of tilt in any direction
  • A response time of at most 200 milliseconds
  • To be able to operate effectively with at least 1 lb. on the surface
